Rostelecom announces the winners of students’ project

Rostelecom has concluded the results of the 5th annual project “New Opportunities for Students” on July 29, 2019.

This year it included around 20 students from different universities, who passed the qualification stage.

“Through projects such as this, we enable young specialists to enter into the ecosystem of a large company like Rostelecom, learn about the corporate culture, communicate with experienced professionals and show what they can do. We have seen that students who partook in our project are a few steps ahead of other candidates when applying for jobs. They are also successful in the startups, initiatives or jobs they pick. At the same time, we are happy that the project helps fill our ranks with young experts, individuals who come with ambition, fresh approaches and ideas, and know how to achieve their goals. We congratulate the winner and welcome them to Rostelecom,” said Rostelecom Armenia CEO Hayk Faramazyan.

“This is the 5th edition of the project, and this time too it united people of different professions around our idea. There is no strictly set way to win, the participants can take risks and submit bold, innovative solutions, reassessing their own abilities. The company supports them by providing a knowledge base and regular consultations with experienced specialists. As a result, at least 4 or 5 participants of the project are hired by Rostelecom every year. I’m sure that for the others it is an interesting experience and they have good memories of our company,” said Ani Grigoryan, Head of HR Department at Rostelecom Armenia.

The project participants attended seminars and fulfilled individual and group tasks, learning the peculiarities of working as a team, preparing joint solutions and overcoming difficulties together.

They were also motivated by the prize: three-month paid internship at Rostelecom. If the young specialist shows good results in that time, they have a good chance of getting a job offer from the company. Rostelecom has added that in that case, the specialist chooses the department.

This year the winner of “New Opportunities for Students” is Nelli Papazyan, student at the Faculty of Informatics and Applied Mathematics, Yerevan State University (YSU).

All those project participants that stand out by creative thinking will receive job offers from different Rostelecom departments this year too.
