This week 25 European young leaders, interested in startups, who already have their own projects visited Armenia. The startup entrepreneurs from France, Greece, Italy, Croatia, Georgia, Ukraine and Portugal were hosted by Armenian Business Angels Network (BANA).
The speakers of the event were Gevorg Poghosyan, the co-founder of Business Angel Network of Armenia and The Crowdfunding Formula, Sona Veziryan, Deputy Director of BANA and also Karen Vardanyan, CEO of Sprint crowdfunders Fund. During the interactive meeting Gevorg Poghosyan spoke about Armenia's startup ecosystem, angels investors and shared his own experience. Karen Vardanyan has also presented the essence, advantages of the grant financing as a means of financing innovative ideas.
Active young people from 8 countries get skills in Armenia to develop their startups during a one-week seminar entitled "How to Start a Startup for Youth" organized by the "Educational and Cultural Bridges" within the framework of the European "Erasmus +" program. International experts who have developed this program provide training to participants, giving them entrepreneurship, leadership skills, and secrets about how to start small businesses and develop according to market demands.
This international project is implemented in three stages: a seminar, and then a youth exchange program and evaluation of results. The final stage of the project evaluation will take place in France in October 2019.
Business Angel Network of Armenia is a business-investor association that, besides financial support, helps startup teams and beginner entrepreneurs to develop their business strategy and to attract potential customers. BANA, which was established in spring 2017, has already provided investments for five startups.
