Ucom supports implementation of “Bringing Sight to Armenian Eyes” in Shirak

Armenian EyeCare Project and Ucom Foundation have cooperated for two years now, providing free of charge quality ophthalmological service to residents of regions throughout Armenia.

Currently the program is implemented in Shirak region. The mobile eye hospital in Artik continues conducting eye screening, research, laser procedures and surgeries, while regional schools are still provided with eye check-ups and public educational classes on eye care.

“We have been motivated with the words of gratitude from thousands of people who benefited from our program during the past years. As the supporter of the program, Ucom attaches special importance to providing free modern ophthalmological services to vulnerable groups and giving them the opportunity of eye sight improvement,” Ucom Director General Hayk Yesayan said.

The visit to Gyumri concluded the week of events, dedicated to World Sight Day. Recently a number of schools received “Tesunik’s sight game” books for children, published by Armenian EyeCare Project within the frames of the joint program with Ucom Foundation.
