On February 7 people celebrated the International Safer Internet Day.
On the occasion of that holiday, CYBER GATES founder and CEO Samvel Gevorgyan spoke to Itel.am and stated that the level of internet literacy had grown in Armenia in recent years thanks to frequent discussions of problems and increase of public awareness.
“On the International Safer Internet Day, CYBER GATES once again recommends to check the privacy of your online data regularly. You can do it in the special section of our website, where the current database contains over 2.05 billion passwords,” he said.
Samvel Gevorgyan also advised to change the password from time to time and use the guidelines on how to choose a good password.
Touching on the statistics, it’s worth noticing that January 2017 saw 16 websites hacked on .am domain, and the index for February (February the 7th included) is 24 websites.
According to the statistics on hacked websites for 2011-2017, the number of hacked sites was the highest in 2012 (970).
