Alexis Ohanian proposes to Serena Williams

Yesterday Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian proposed to tennis player Serena Williams.

35-year-old Serena Williams announced on Reddit that she got engaged to 33- year-old Reddit co-founder. The couple started dating in 2015.

“I came home a little late. Someone had a bag packed for me and a carriage awaited. Destination: Rome, where our stars first collided. Down on one knee he said 4 words and I said yes.”

Alexis Ohanian commented on this post: “And you made me the happiest man on the planet.”

Later Ohanian tweeted: “Thank you for all the kind words, especially from all my Armenian brothers & sisters debating when they can claim Serena as Armenian.”

Serena Williams is four-time Olympic champion, a world record of all times. In 2002 she became number one racket in the world and won that title 6 more times. Williams is also the highest paid female tennis player and the first woman to earn more than USD 50 million.

Williams won the most Grand Slams in singles, doubles and mixed doubles.

Alexis Ohanian was included Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2011 and 2012 as an important representative of tech community. In 2016 Wired named Alexis Ohanian and Reddit General Manager Eric Martin “champions of innovation” in the issue devoted to the magazine’s 20th anniversary.
