The Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets and VivaCell-MTS completed the "Alternative Energy" project in the village of Khndzorut in Vayots Dzor region.
During the first stage of the program 60 LED lights have been installed in the village illuminating the main streets of the village, which is an 1800 meters long area. This time a lighting system of 34 LED lights have been installed.
As a result of the entire program 94 lights were installed, illuminating 5000 meters long space, involving the whole village.
“This program stands out in one important aspect: it is not limited to particularly visible outcomes. Its environmental usefulness will be seen years after, unlike its financial efficiency. Cutting financial expenses is particularly important for our compatriots living in the borderland areas. We strive to ease the burden of the residents, the village, and equally the community. The saved means can be directed to solve other persistent problems here. This is what we mean when talking about responsible approach, which has guided us from the very first day of our activities,” said VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian.
