IBM ISTC Startup Challenge Demo Day to take place on June 25

IBM ISTC Startup Challenge Demo Day will take place on June 25 at the American University of Armenia.

Within the 10-week Demo Day, 6 teams will present their ideas, and winners will be selected.

Out of 40 applications, received for IBM ISTC Startup Challenge, only 10 passed to the competition stage, and 6 reached the final round. Various workshops were conducted for the teams during these 10 weeks, ranging from concept design and development to access to the market.

The teams used the services provided by the IBM Watson artificial intelligence in their work, which allows them to make “smart” solutions without much effort.

The winning two teams will receive the equivalent of USD 1,000 in cash prizes. One of the teams will receive a special prize by IBM - USD 120,000 IBM Cloud Credits. The best teams will continue their acceleration at ISTC (opening is expected in July).

The winning teams will be selected by two scores. One half of the assessment will be based on the work carried out by the team during 10 weeks, while the other half will be given by the jury after hearing pitching at DemoDay.

On the same day and at the same place, Seedstars Yerevan startup competition will take place, implemented jointly with Microsoft Innovation Center and Enterprise Incubator Foundation (EIF).

IBM ISTC, USAID Armenia and EIF will organize jointly the annual IBM Bluemix Hackathon in July, and begin the first phase of the ISTC Acceleration at the new center in September.
