Participants of VivaCell-MTS Sales and Customer Service School graduated

In the frames of Career Development Program VivaCell-MTS always encourages educational programs supporting students who are the future of Armenia. Developing qualified and experienced future professionals means ensuring sustainability of labor market in Armenia which is actually the main objective of Career Development Program (CDP) at VivaCell-MTS.

As Armenia’s Leading Telecommunication Operator, VivaCell-MTS gives an opportunity to youth representing different higher educational institutions and schools to visit the Company, obtain career advice and orientation, get included in internship programs and practice whatever they have leant during academic study throughout years, increase their skills and competence in their respective spheres and get a chance to work with VivaCell-MTS in particular.

VivaCell-MTS Sales and Customer Service School was launched in December 2015, with an aim to develop students’ sales and customer service experience, as well as communication skills by enrolling them as hosting people/animators at the Company’s Service Centers.

During the first phase, VivaCell-MTS hosted students from 3 higher education institutions - Yerevan State University, Armenian National Polytechnic University and European Regional Educational Academy. Out of many students who applied for the program, only 23 were chosen, based on their potential, fresh and creative ideas and willingness to bring positive change to our Company.

Prior to starting their internship at Service Centers, students underwent special training sessions on VivaCell-MTS products and tariffs, Mobidram services, code of ethics, got exposed to the working practices and procedures of the Company. Not only the interns but the Company also has benefited from the project: usually during New Year holiday season the Company’s service centers experience high flow of subscribers, and staff works under heavy load. Students provided significant support to the staff of service centers. One of the tangible benefits brought by students’ enrollment with service centers was the sale of about 350 phones to customers. Some of the promising students who showed high performance are considered as candidates for open vacancies available in VivaCell-MTS.

At a graduation ceremony organized at VivaCell-MTS headquarters, the Company’s General Manager Ralph Yirikian said: “Potential cannot be realized unless it faces a real challenge in terms of adding value. Work is about adding value, and one can achieve this only when theory is translated into practice. Worth noting is that when finding themselves in a creative working environment, even those students who have not the highest marks, can be no less efficient than those with the highest ones. What’s more important is that some of these students, knowing well customer mindset, tomorrow will become part of university faculty, and will fine-tune the curricula to make them more market-oriented.”
Multiple educational initiatives implemented in frames of the Career Development Project aim at giving young people hands on experience through on-job-training. VivaCell-MTS is glad to see that best-performing students are being employed by other organizations as well.
