ABBYY launches Findo search system

ABBYY launched Findo search system in the U.S.

It’s available both for computers and iOS operating devices.

ABBYY founder and chairman, co-founder of AYB foundation David Yang told Vedomosti that in contrast to other search systems Findo can find information in cloud storage, social network and customers’ devices (PCs, smartphones).

Particularly the system can perform searches in Gmail, Google Drive, Dropbox, Outlook, Yahoo and Exchange.

According to David Yang, Findo is continuation of Compreno developed by ABBYY.

“The development of the product will take place in  the most active way. It’s the starting point of the path: the system will become smarter every 2 weeks when we will introduce new features”, said David Yang.

According to the research conducted by ABBYY, 20% of people using search systems don’t find what they need immediately. Findo suggests combination of the sources and indexing.

Currently, the searches can be done only in English. David Yang thinks it’s possible to add other languages if there is demand for it.

The paid services fee will be USD 5. Some limitations connected with search time and the fields are possible in the free version.

David Yang informed, that they are now negotiating with 2 companies who have large audience and need an intellectual search service.

The founder of ABBYY expects Findo to be profitable when it has 2.2 mln users and that 2-8% of them uses the paid services version.
