Armenian Code Academy. Learn programming and find a job

Armenian Code Academy education center operates in Yerevan starting from this year. It aims at providing high quality education to talented youth and supporting them in getting a job.

The center is founded by the Moscow Institute of Physics (MIPT) and Moscow State University (MSU) graduates Karen Sharafyan, Narek and Davit Aznaurov.

Armenian Code Academy cooperates with 10 Armenian companies including Zangi, SFL and Workfront.

Karen Sharaphyan told Itel.am that the main problem of IT in Armenia is the lack of qualified specialists and they aim to promote quick development of the field by providing high quality personnel for companies.

“Armenian universities are currently unable to satisfy the IT fields’ needs in terms of quantity, in some cases even- quality. Thus, companies have to allocate considerable sums of money for staff training and qualification. At the same time, very few companies have that opportunity: that puts off the field’s development”, he stressed.



Karen Sharaphyan stated that they involve the best specialists in solution to the problem and create individual programs basing on the companies’ demands.

“The courses last for 6 months currently, but we will soon have longer and shorter courses as well. Once every two months assessment is organized with hackatones and future employers to make student-employer contact easier. Those students, who complete the course with success, get well-paid job offers. There are free places in every course and in case of taking the job offers, students get 50% tuition refund”, Karen Sharaphyan informed. 

Armenian Code Academy runs Web and Android programming courses. Applications are currently submitted for joining iOS programming course.

Thanks to a newly developed program, online courses will be available soon: they will combine students and employers at the same place.

The company plans to invite lecturers from abroad and open new centers in marzes.

Karen Sharaphyan added that apart from courses they are planning to open scientific laboratories that will give Armenian youth the opportunity to work on solving actual IT problems and become globally competitive. The first scientific lab will be opened in spring 2016.
