Investigative Committee of Armenia and telecommunication operators to cooperate

Investigative Committee of Armenia and mobile and landline operators have today signed a memorandum of understanding on organizing the electronic version of internet services availability, persons’ data and document turnover on phone transcripts.

The sides have confirmed their readiness to take joint steps to receive and transfer transcripts promptly and develop collaboration to introduce technical capacities.

“As before, operators provided the transcripts based on court decisions but due to the lack of clear procedures, the necessary information especially in case of post are delivered sometimes to the investigation body within 1 month or more leading to delay of investigation dates”, the press release disseminated by the Investigation Committee of Armenia.

To this end, the Committee will ensure handover of court’s decisions with accompanying notices endorsed by the e-signature provided and serviced by the Ekeng CJSC.

Ucom CJSC, K-Telecom CJSC, Orange Armenia CJSC will ensure earliest electronic handover of the transcripts to the First Section of the Armenian Investigation Committee Department and accompanying notices with “Urgent” stamp will be among priorities.

Due to security, the program will be available to one person via computer. ArmenTel CJSC also took part in the elaboration of the program and the company will join the memorandum within upcoming days.
