VivaCell-MTS provides free Wi-Fi in 4 museums

VivaCell-MTS and the Technology Management Center of Yerevan have expanded the list of beneficiaries of the “Wi-Fi Everywhere” project.

VivaCell-MTS has provided four cultural institutions in Yerevan with modern information infrastructure. Wi-Fi corners with free one-year Internet access have been created in the Museum of History of Yerevan, the Yerevan Museum of Modern Art, Karen Demirchyan Museum, and the Erebuni Historical and Archeological Museum-Reserve.

The initiative implemented jointly by the state and private sectors is aimed at meeting the needs of the culture-loving public. The number of consumers of the information available widely on the Internet grows year by year. Providing Internet access in museums is particularly important in terms of presenting the cultural heritage of our country to the world. The project makes the opportunities of innovative technologies available for its target group, i.e. local and foreign visitors of museums.

To remind, in the frames of the “Wi-Fi Everywhere” project earlier, Wi-Fi corners have been created in all branches of Central Library after Av. Isahakyan managed by Yerevan Municipality.

The annual cost of the project implemented in the museums is around AMD 1 million; AMD 4.8 million have been allocated for providing modern information infrastructure in the libraries.
