Orange Armenia updates Wi-Fi modems in 50 buses in Yerevan

Orange Armenia MyBox3G/Wi-Fi new generation modems were placed in 50 buses of 4 transport lines that allow 32 devices to connect and provides 21.6 MB/s internet speed.

Alexandr Yesayan, CEO of Orange Armenia told this talking to journalists today. He said that the information refers to 50 buses of 5, 2, 41 and 28 transport lines that provide the transportation of the students.

The project was implemented within the cooperation between Orange Armenia and Yerevan Mayor’s Office.

“We value this project, as it really shows how the new technologies improve our daily life. Using the advantages of mobile internet we are able to make the time people spend on the bus more meaningful and create an opportunity for them to chat with their friends, read daily news or just browse the Internet without paying”, said Alexandr Yesayan.

Orange Armenia started cooperation with Yerevan Mayor’s Office within WiFi Everywhere project in 2011, when Orange Armenia modems were installed in the buses. Currently the WiFi modems are replaced with MyBox ones which allows multiple devices to connect the internet at the same time.

Orange Armenia also noted that people can use Wi-Fi internet in other buses by using MyFi router.
