VivaCell-MTS is 10 years old

Today is the 10th anniversary of VivaCell-MTS.

Addressing a press conference on this occasion, VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian presented the indicators by which the company is considered Armenia’s leading telecommunication operator.

“Over the 10 years, we have overcome the challenges caused by economic ups and downs and competition. VivaCell-MTS is more than a company for us: it’s a whole life full of hard work, victories and challenges. Our success story is empowering and encouraging to continue our work for the sake of a common goal - ensure customer solicitation and society’s prosperity. Over the past 10 years, we have become more flexible, effective, goal-oriented, responsible, transparent, and we have got closer to our subscribers and the society. Thank you for the trust, it obliges us to do more”, said Ralph Yirikian.

VivaCell-MTS market share makes around 60% with more than 2 mln subscribers. 1.12mln of them use data transfer services.

Across the republic, VivaCell-MTS has 92 service centers, 2 of them operating in 24/7 regime.

Through 494 roaming partners, the company provides roaming services in 196 countries of the world.

In 615 settlements (including 48 towns), 3.5G network with DC HSDPA availability at 42.2MBps is one of the major benefits of the company.

VivaCell-MTS is also a leader in terms of mobile coverage. The 3G network (more than 1175 base stations) is available to the 98.8% of the population, and 2G coverage makes 99.8%.

In 2009, Armenia for the first time launched 4G/LTE network ensuring up to 150 Mbps speed. Currently, the 4G network (about 250 base stations) is available to 45.7% population including 7 cities of Armenia.

Over the 10 years of the company’s operation, around AMD28.9bln has been allocated to implementation of corporate social responsibility programs and sponsorship.

VivaCell-MTS capital investments make more than AMD182bln. Over 2005-2015, the revenue from the mobile communication and related services has made more than AMD675.4bln. At the same period, the company has paid about AMD188.2bln taxes.

VivaCell-MTS employs around 1400 people whose average age is 34. The company has allocated AMD6bln to the salary fund.
