Yerevan Zoo being upgraded with VivaCell-MTS support

Architect David Hancocks and employee at the Royal Zoo of Amsterdam, landscape architect Thijs de Zeeuw have paid a visit to Yerevan ahead of the opening season of the Yerevan Zoo.

The visit was organized by the Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets (FPWC) within the framework of “FPWC and VivaCell-MTS for Yerevan Zoo” project.

“With such a development tempo, Yerevan Zoo might soon come to be not only the best in the region, but also one of the most notable ones in the world,” said David Hancocks at the meeting with journalists. In 2011, David Hancocks took part in the development of the new general layout of Yerevan Zoo as an expert.

Touching upon current changes in the Yerevan Zoo, Thijs de Zeeuw stressed its favorable location, which enables creating close to natural vital conditions for the animals.

Yerevan Zoo Director and FPWC Founder Ruben Khachatryan said that the Zoo will be opened to the public in a totally different way.

Especially highlighted was the support of VivaCell-MTS, general partner of FPWC, for the upgrading, educational and environmental projects in the Zoo.

New enclosures were built for tigers, wolves, bears and a number of other animals.

The Director said that there will be changes in the ticket price policy of the Zoo due to open on June 1. There will be a number of options; in particular, the prices for tickets at weekends and on holidays will differ. In addition, there will be seasonal, family and other packages.
