Orange collects AMD 27 mln in the charity auction and donates it to “Let’s keep children home” project

Today Orange has announced the results of the “One number - one destiny” charity auction, during which the best 11 numbers from the new 041 range were sold.

In total 181 bids were made by participants. The 11 numbers were sold during the auction for overall 26’956’717 AMD. As promised Orange has donated the total amount to the “Let’s keep children home” charitable initiative. Orange has as well matched the highest bid of 5’200’000 AMD and donated it on top of the collected amount.

“We are impressed by the results of our charity auction. “Let’s keep children home” is one of the most important projects of Orange Foundation, implemented together with World Vision organization, and these 32 MAMD will enable around 30 children to return home.  On the name of the Orange Foundation I thank all the participants for their active participation and generosity”, said Francis Gelibter, the General Director of Orange Armenia and the Chairman of Board of the Orange Foundation.

“For more than 15 years World Vision in Armenia has been implementing projects with aim to ensure a fertile environment in families and communities for the children to grow and reach their potential to the fullest. Thanks to generous donations of Orange customers World Vision will continue working with vulnerable families of Armenia to create sustainable economic conditions that will allow bringing children back home from state care institutions to enjoy the love and care of their parents,” said Zhirayr Edilyan, World Vision Armenia Program Director.

“Let’s keep children home” project, a joint initiative of the Orange Foundation and World Vision Armenia, has been implemented since 2012, and allows Orange customers each month to make 100 or 500 AMD donations that Orange Foundation doubles. In the frame of the project, socially vulnerable families are provided with means and tools to ensure their financial stability, which enables them to get their children back home. Before this charity auction already more than 35 children have reunited with their families, thanks to this project.
