"Open Game" computer and mobile games development contest starts

"Open Game" third computer and mobile games development contest initiated by Union of IT Enterprises (UITE) and Orange Armenia started today and it aims to boost computer and mobile game development in Armenia. 

The contest will be held in 4 rounds and the participants with the help of the jury will develop their projects presenting ready games at the show. The participants will compete in 9 nominations - "Best Game", "Best Mobile Game", "Best Script", "Innovation", "New Design", "Best Image", "Best 3D Solution", "Teenager's Championship" and "People's Prize".

The prize fund makes AMD 1mln 700 thousand which will be distributed in nominations.

"The quality of the projects presented at the last year's contest exceeded our expectations: we saw projects with excellent solutions which were fully ready and could enter the market", said the Executive Director of UITE Karen Vardanyan.

"The number of participants this year doubled against last year which means that game development in Armenia is a dynamically developing sphere", said Orange Armenia CEO Francis Gelibter.

The contest doesn't have age, typical and technical restrictions. The registration is open till September 30, 2013, and those who will register till June 10 will get the jury's consultations and a chance to take par tin DigiTec Business Forum due to be held in June. The jury comprises specialists of game development, programmers and designers.
