Digitec Business Forum kicks off in Yerevan

Yerevan/Mediamax/. The annual Digitec Business Forum opened in Yerevan today.

The forum is called “Smart Security: Digital solutions for innovative economy”. It will be held in Armenia-Marriot Hotel on June 15-16. The organizer of the forum is the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE). The General sponsor is ArmenTel (Beeline trademark).

Opening the event, UITE Executive Director Karen Vardanyan said that the purpose of the event if to promote the modernization of the economy by bringing together all IT goods and services of Armenia at one place.

“This year, the number of companies attending the forum has grown almost by half: 59 companies (38 local and 21 foreign) against last year’s 40. Companies from Great Britain, Netherlands, Denmark, Latvia, Lithuania, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Macedonia, Moldova and Georgia attend the forum,” said Karen Vardanyan, adding that about 40 specialized workshops and presentations will be held within the framework of the forum.

ArmenTel CEO Igor Klimko said that by sponsoring the event again, the company highlights the importance of the innovative development of the economy.

“Using ICT technologies, both the private and the state sectors can significantly increase the efficiency of their work. I advise to pay attention to local IT companies which very often do not yield to foreign suppliers,” said Igor Klimko.
