VivaCell-MTS’s ARPU increased by 11%

Yerevan/Mediamax/. Revenue of VivaCell-MTS in the first quarter of 2012 made AMD 16.7bln having increased by 2% against the same period of 2011.

As of the first quarter of 2012, operating income before depreciation and amortization (OIBDA) made AMD 11.3bln as of the first quarter of 2012 having increased by 36% against the same period of 2011, Mediamax reports quoting the financial results of the “MTS” OJSC.

“Substantial growth of the OIBDA  is linked to the exploitation of the equipment within the project of updating network equipment which was reflected in the extra income at AMD 3.52bln in the report of the first quarter of 2012”, the press release of “MTS” OJSC notes.

Average revenue per user (ARPU) of VivaCell-MTS mobile network made AMD 2 380 as of the first quarter having increased by 11% against the same period of 2011. Minutes of use (MOU) per month increased by 7% reaching up to 315 minutes.

According to the press release, ARPU growth in the annual report resulted from the company’s efforts toward maintaining and attracting profitable clients in conditions of growing competition and the MOU increase was conditioned by boosting in-network calls for enhancing the loyalty of customers.
