NUR program

NUR Program (New Educational Strategy – in Armenian) was initiated by Argentinean benefactor of Armenian origin Eduardo Eurnekian. In January 2011, an agreement was signed with the NKR government according to which NUR would provide pupils of 1-4grades and their teachers XO personal computers. The NKR government undertook to ensure high-speed internet in schools which was one of the key aspects of the program.

“The international community conceives of Nagorno Karabakh in the context of war and regional conflicts. People don’t notice children who are born and grow their. These children have the right of getting complete education and information. I intend to fulfill the gap through the NUR and give Nagorno Karabakh’s children an opportunity to get the best education offered in the world today”, said Eduardo Eurnekian.

NUR is implemented within “A Computer to Each Child” program. The educational program worked out by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology is applied in many countries across the globe.

After the NKR government ensures high-speed internet, the Fund will continue providing XO computers to schools of other regions of Artsakh as well as a result of which all the pupils of primary schools will have their own personal computers in a few years.
