    Armenia among 29 countries where 4G networks are commercially launched

    Yerevan/Mediamax/. In early 2012, GSA (Global mobile Suppliers Association) published an update on 4G/LTE networks, confirming 49 LTE operators have now launched commercial services.

    49 commercial LTE networks are launched in 29 countries:

    - Armenia;
    - Australia;
    - Austria;
    - Bahrain;
    - Belarus;
    - Brazil;
    - Hungary;
    - Germany;
    -  Hong Kong;
    - Denmark;
    - Canada;
    - Kuwait;
    - Latvia;
    - Lithuania;
    - Norway;
    - United Arab emirates;
    - Poland;
    - Puerto Rico;
    - Saudi Arabia;
    - Singapore;
    - USA;
    - Uzbekistan;
    - Uruguay;
    - Philippines;
    - Finland;
    - Sweden;
    - Estonia;
    - South Korea;
    - Japan.

    In late 2011, Armenian VivaCell-MTS mobile operator announced the commercial launch of 4G/LTE network in the center of Yerevan. VivaCell-MTS began testing the 4G/LTE network in December 2010.

    29 commercial LTE networks were launched in 2011- 14 more than in 2010.

    According to GSA forecast, 119 commercial LTE networks will be launched in over 50 countries worldwide by the end of 2012.
