Winners of Imagine Cup 2011 to represent Armenia in New York

Yerevan/Mediamax/. According to the results of Imagine Cup 2011 contest, summed up on May 2, its winners are “X-Teach”, “Eco-Friends” and “ANAKA” Companies, which occupied the first, second and third places respectively.

Mediamax was informed in the press service of “ArmenTel” Company that the winning teams received monetary awards from “Enterprise Incubator Foundation”: The first place – AMD 300 thousand, second place AMD 250 thousand, third place – AMD 150 thousand. The team, which has occupied the first place, also received a netbook from “ArmenTel” as a gift.

The winning team will leave for New York in summer, 2011, where it will represent Armenia at the world stage of Imagine Cup contest.

Armenian Minister of Science and Education Armen Ashotyan was present at the ceremony of summing up the contest results and he stated: “Innovation is not simply technology. It is a way of thinking, which should constantly be encouraged among the youth”.

In his turn, General Director of “ArmenTel” Company Igor Klimko stated that this contest is a bright example of how big business encourages innovative, technological initiatives of the youth.

Imagine Cup contest aims at assisting young specialist for the latter to reveal their potential in creating technologies and innovations. “Enterprise Incubator Foundation” and Microsoft Armenian office organize Imagine Cup in Armenia.
