Yerevan /Mediamax/. “ArmenTel” subscribers occupy the first place among “VimpelCom” Group of Companies as to consumption of internet.
Mediamax reports that General Director of “ArmenTel” CJSC (Beeline trademark) Igor Klimko said this at a news conference today. According to him, the weekly consumption of internet in Armenia by “ArmenTel” subscribers makes 300 terabyte.
Igor Klimko stressed that in 2010, the company intends to pay serious attention to development of broadband internet in Armenia. Probably, new tariff plans will be offered, the speeds will be increased.
Speaking of the plans for 2011, Igor Klimko noted that the company intends to continue promoting brand phones in the Armenian market, as well as sale of office equipment in the sales points of the company.
Concerning provision of 4G network services, according to Igor Klimko, negotiations on this topic are already in process. He noted that there is no free range of corresponding frequencies, and this issue cannot be solved in a day. Head of “ArmenTel” also noted that there is no mass production of devices for 4G network yet either, and the fact somewhat complicates the solution of this issue. Igor Klimko informed that in 2011, the company intends to focus on full-scale use of 3G network’s capacities.
