Second stage of “Computer for All” launched in Armenia

Yerevan/Mediamax/. The main stage of “Computer for All” state program was launched in Armenia today.

Mediamax informs that as compared to the pilot project, realized since September, 2009, till May, 2010, in Yerevan, Gyumri and Vanadzor, now the program will be realized on the entire territory of the country (as well as in NKR as a pilot project).

Producers and retailers of computer equipment, as well as banks, which will agree to issue credits for purchase of computers without prepayment, can join the project.

Today they also signed memoranda on carrying out two more pilot programs with participation of Intel and HP companies: “School Computer” and “Computer for Teachers”.

Within the framework of the first, Intel has provided 30 Intel Classmate PC computers to Anania Shirakatsi Gymnasium and “Mkhitar Sebastatsi” Educational Center each. The second provides for elaboration of affordable mechanisms for teachers to purchase computers.

During the event they also signed a memorandum on joining the program of “ArmenTel” company, which also offers its customer affordable schemes for purchase of notebooks and netbooks since August 12, 2010.

Director of “Enterprise Incubator Foundation” Bagrat Yengibaryan noted that “ArmenTel” started to play an important role in increasing the computerization level in Armenia.
