Yerevan/Mediamax/. SP Marketing Solutions, Orange Armenia mobile connection operator and Circle.am rating system for Armenian web resources announced the launch of “Armnet Awards” competition among Armenian websites today.
Mediamax reports that SP Marketing Solutions Director Haykuhi Taksildaryan stated today that “Armnet Awards” is meant to assess the progress and capacity for further development of the Armenian internet segment, as well as award the best Armenian websites.
Orange Armenia CEO Bruno Duthoit stated that since the day of its establishment the company has been aiming at increasing internet availability in Armenia and, consequently, feels responsible for development of Armenian web resources.
Winners of the competition will be defined following the results of two stages: internet voting at www.armnetawards.am website (from November 10 to 30) and selection of best resources by the international jury, which will include representatives of companies, such as Microsoft, RuTube, Vkontakte.ru and Opera Software.
The competition will take place under 8 categories.
- Design and convenience;
- Innovations;
- Technical implementation;
- Content;
- Progress of the year;
- First prize (website, which receives the largest number of votes in all categories);
- National choice (website, which receives the largest number of votes following the results of internet voting);
- Special Orange prize for the best WAP resource.
A precondition for participation in the competition is the website’s orientation at the Armenian population and the Diaspora, its elaboration by an Armenian company. Besides, the website should be created, or should have undergone serious modifications over the past two years. In order to participate in the competition, owners of web-resources should get registered at www.armnetawards.am website.
The awarding ceremony will be preceded by an international conference “From outsourcing to innovation”, which will take place in Yerevan on December 3-4. At the conference they will mainly present the newest tendencies of internet technologies and prospects of their application in business.
