“Innovation Day 2010” took place in Yerevan

Yerevan/Mediamax/. “Innovation Day 2010” took place in Yerevan at the initiative of “Microsoft Armenia”.

Mediamax reports that the Director of Microsoft Representation in Armenia Grigor Barseghyan informed journalists that this event is meant to tell about technologic capacities of the company, which positions itself as business, based on innovations.

During the event, Grigor Barseghyan particularly presented “Cloud Computing” program, which allows small and medium enterprises acquiring corporate program solutions of Microsoft in the form of equipment without large investments.

According to the Minister of Economy, the initiative of Microsoft Company “Innovation Day” is concordant with the priority tasks of the Armenian government, directed at developing the economy, based on innovations, as well as developing information technologies in the country. He stressed that Armenia strives and has all the opportunities to occupy a leading position in the region in IT sphere.

During the “Innovation Day”, they presented awards to students, who participated in “Image Cup” competition. The first place was occupied by students from different higher educational institutions of the country, who presented a project in the sphere of healthcare, due to which one can define the temperature, pulse and the overall state of the newborns. They received a prize in the form of a trip to Warsaw, where they will participate in an IT event, lasting a week.
