VivaCell-MTS proceeds increased by 2% in 2009, making 80.3bln AMD

Yerevan/Mediamax/. Proceeds of VivaCell-MTS increased by 2% in 2009, as compared to 2008, and made 80.3bln AMD ($200.7mln).

Mediamax reports referring the financial indices of “MTS” OJSC that at that, in the IV quarter, 2009, as compared to the III quarter, the proceeds of the operator reduced by 5%, making 20.9bln AMD.

Operating Income before Depreciation and Amortization (OIBDA) of the company increased by 3% in 2009, making 43.1bln AMD.

“Increase of OIBDA profitability following the results of the year is conditioned by successful work, aiming at improving operating efficiency of the company”, “MTS” OJSC noted.

Subscriber base of VivaCell-MTS increased for 56.1 thousands in a year, making 2mln 73.1 thousands at the end of 2009.

The operator’s average revenue per user (ARPU) reduced by 15% in 2009, making 3.267 AMD. The index of the minutes of use (MOU) increased by 14% in 2009, making 203 minutes. 

Capital expenses of VivaCell-MTS increased by 39.8% in 2009, as compared to 2009, making $48.5mln.

“MTS positively assesses the increase of the Armenian operator’s annual proceeds in conditions of the crisis and the entry of the third player to the market”.
