WB prepares a project for Armenia, which provides for developing national broadband network

Yerevan /Mediamax/. World Bank prepares “E-Society and Innovation for Competitiveness” Project for Armenia, costing about $25mln.

Mediamax informs that this was announced at the launch of WB’s “Information and Communications for Development 2009: Extending Reach and Increasing Impact” publication.

The project aims to increase competitiveness of the Armenian economy by developing the IT sector, facilitating public-private partnerships for ICT infrastructure investments, and deploying a national broadband network with a focus on rural access.
