Yerevan /Mediamax/. A proposal on building an Armenian national broadband internet network will be elaborated.
Mediamax reports that the Head of National Competitiveness Foundation of Armenia (NCFA) programs Armen Ghalumian said this today. NCFA supervises the program on network construction.
The network is planned to be built to provide internet connection on the entire territory of Armenia, to assist reduction of prices for internet, gain new international internet exits, as well as form an intranet of the government.
A team of international experts will arrive in Armenia in December. They will elaborate the proposal and the technical justification of the network in the course of 5 months, given funding of the World Bank, after which the government will announce a tender for construction. Armen Ghalumian noted that the program will be realized in close cooperation between the state and the private sector.
