Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenian government approved the concept of introducing digital TV and radio broadcasting today.
As the Minister of Economy of Armenia Nerses Yeritsyan stated today, according to the concept, the corresponding legislative changes will be approved and a plan of measures on making a transition from analogue to digital broadcasting will be elaborated by the end of 2009.
Minister of Economy stated that transition to digital broadcasting will contribute to increase of efficiency in using the range of frequencies.
Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsian noted that taking into account the public response concerning the transition to digital TV and radio broadcasting, the government has invited experts from the European Union for competent organization of the given process.
