Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenian government provided permission to GNC-Alfa Company to start works on laying a fiber-optic cable along certain highways.
Mediamax reports that Armenian Minister of Transport and Communication Gurgen Sargsian stated at the session of the government today that GNC-Alfa carries out works on laying a new internet cable from Georgia.
According to him, the new cable will allow increasing competition in the sphere of internet services and offer more affordable prices to final users. Gurgen Sargsian informed that the maximum term for completing works is 18 months.
Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsian expressed opinion that GNC-Alfa should complete works in a shorter period, which is based on interests of both business and consumers.
