PSRC thanks mobile operators of Armenia for flexibility

Yerevan /Mediamax/. Member of Public Services Regulatory Committee (PSRC) of Armenia Samvel Arabajyan thanked mobile operators of the country for "demonstrated flexibility and readiness to make a compromise in the course of negotiations on new interconnect tariffs".

Samvel Arabajyan said in the interview with Mediamax today that during past 2 months Directors of "VivaCell-MTS, "ArmenTel" and "Orange Armenia" negotiated "in positive key" that allowed coordinating the document, which will bring to decrease in prices for the subscribers` calls.

Member of PSRC noted that initial tariff for interconnect, set since January 1 2010, will be considerably cheaper than the current one. He said that "stable dynamics of decrease in prices is built into the document, and the prices will fall by about 60% in 18 months".

Samvel Arabajyan said that the decision was based on modern practices, recommended by European experts.

Samvel Arabajyan said in the interview with Mediamax that PSRC will consider the issue of setting new interconnect tariffs for SMS messages in the near future, which will also bring to decrease in prices for the consumers.
