Yerevan /Mediamax/. Building of own infrastructure by internet providers of Armenia is by not means connected with presence or lack of connections between “ArmenTel” networks and the networks of other providers.
Spokeswoman of “ArmenTel” Anush Begloyan said this in an interview to Mediamax, commenting on the statement of ADC Commercial Director, according to which “ArmenTel” had to secure interconnect between providers, however it established high fee for that, as a result of which the latter started building infrastructure independently.
“Between data transfer networks of “ArmenTel” and the networks of operators, providing internet access services, there are connections, which secure exchange of local traffic (“peer” connection). This exchange between network of internet providers is realized free of charge. Building of own infrastructure by internet providers of Armenia by no means is connected with presence/lack of connections between “ArmenTel” networks and networks of providers. Building of alternative networks may only be welcomed. This is a normal commonly accepted world practice, which is observed in all countries as a result of liberalization of telecommunications market”, Anush Begloyan stated.
