Rostelecom awards scholarships to winners of student contest

On October 22 Rostelecom held the award ceremony for winners of student contest, announced ahead of the start of academic year, at the company’s main sale and customer service office.

Rostelecom Scholarship Contest began on August 26, ahead of the new academic year, and the students expressed their ideas about education and modern technologies in essays on the topic of “How I would apply the newest technologies in education”.
    
“Regardless of their studies, the students from universities and schools use technological novelties. The contest aimed to remind about the contribution they can have in further development of technologies. It was important for us learn about the possibilities and ways of application the students see in their daily life and would like to have. I am certain that many of their ideas will be used in startups, which the students can actually found themselves,” said Rostelecom Armenia CEO Hayk Faramazyan.

All submitted essays were considered by the jury comprised of Rostelecom employees.

The 3 winners of the contest are as follows:”

1st place: Lilit Khachikyan (Informatics and Applied Mathematics Department, Yerevan State University, 1st course), scholarship – AMD 300,000 (AMD 30,000 monthly for 10 months);

2nd place: Lilit Galstyan (Computer Engineering and Automated Systems Department, Sevan Multifunctional State College, 2nd course), scholarship – AMD 200,000 (AMD 20,000 monthly for 10 months);

3rd place: Alexander Talalyan (high school courses, National Polytechnic University of Armenia), scholarship – AMD 100,000 (AMD 10,000 monthly for 10 months).

The mandatory condition of the contest was subscription to Rostelecom by the participant or any of their family members.
