Armenian-American Business Forum unites businessmen from two countries

Yerevan hosted today Armenian-American Business Forum, within the frames of which the guests were introduced to Armenia’s technological potential.

The American businessmen and politicians got acquainted with abilities of Armenian companies.

Mayor of Glendale Zareh Sinanyan stated that Armenia has healthy IT sector, which offers opportunities for everyone.

“Armenian and American companies have previously cooperated, but now we are trying to show a more systematic approach. The event is organized in B2B (business-to-business) format. We visit various companies, schools,” he noted.

California State Senator Anthony Portantino noted that they arrived in Armenia to learn about local challenges.

“The event is aimed at continuing the dialogue. The better you know the problems, the more you can help. We hope to continue bridging economic opportunities of the two countries. I have three lawmakers with me here who represent different districts of Los Angeles. You could say this is our first large business visit to the region, and will carry on in this fashion,” he said.

The organizer of the forum, Executive Director at Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises Karen Vardanyan has said that the U.S. remains the main partner for Armenian IT sector with 60% share in export.

“The United States is a global tech leader. Naturally, we cooperate with the U.S. in both technical and political sectors in order to create the best climate for our companies,” he said.
