Raffi Krikorian joins Uber

Twitter’s former Vice President Raffi Krikorian started working at Uber.

Raffi Krikorian will hold the position of Engineering Lead at Uber Advanced Technologies Center. The Center is the joint venture of Uber and Carnegie Mellon University which is engaged in innovations and other long-term technologies development (for instance, self-driving vehicles.)

Uber founded in 2009 is one of the global leaders of transfer services through mobile apps. As of December 2014, the services of USD40bln company are available in more than 200 cities of 53 countries.

Raffi Krikorian confirmed the news about the new job on his Twitter.

“I’m excited to note that I’ve joined Uber’s Advanced Technologies Center”, he wrote.



Raffi Krikorian left Twitter in 2014. HE headed Twitter services integration to Apple’s iOS mobile system and helped create Twitter’s Geolocation program. He led more than 5 various groups in Twitter and was responsible for the infrastructure of the social network software.

Before joining Twitter, Raffi Krikorian co-founded WattzOn.com which was called the Best Idea by Business Week magazine in 2008. He was a member of Media Particles and Atoms group at Massachusetts Technological Institute, also lecturing in the Interactive Telecommunication Program of New York University.

In 2013, he became a member of Board of TUMO Center for Creative Technologies.
