Wakie mobile application created by Hrachik and Tatul Adjamians, which allows to wake a stranger, has changed its concept.
From now on, the app will allow to choose any subject and in 7 seconds maximum to connect to any person anywhere in the world, who can talk to you on that subject.
Hrachik Adjamian told Itel.am that the service is available in 184 languages, including Armenian.
“Not many Armenians use Wakie at present, but you can arrange the settings so that you connect to Armenian speakers exactly,” noted Hrachik Adjamian.
According to him, those who have a problem or want to share their emotions, for example, can use Wakie to get help from people who care and are ready to share their experience in mere seconds.
Hrachik Adjamian stressed that if around 10,000 calls were made with Wakie a year ago, today the number is 1 million. The average age of Wakie users is 26.
“Since we have Google we understood there’s no meaning to search something in the room or the nearest library. The world is big enough to have better answers. You could say that Wakie does with human consultations what Google made with information search,” emphasized he.
The company got over USD 1 million from various investors and business angels recently. Investments received by the company up till now make $4.5 million. One of the latest news is that Wakie was included in Y Combinator.
Wakie is available for iOS, Android and Windows Phone based mobile devices.
