VivaCell- MTS and National Philharmonic Orchestra sum up concert season 2015

The cooperation of the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra and VivaCell-MTS has a history of six fruitful years. Owing to this cooperation, the philharmonic orchestra has implemented a number of projects both in Armenia, Artsakh, and abroad. In the last two years, the orchestra has had concert tours in Italy, Austria, Germany, Scandinavian countries, the USA, Mexico and Lebanon.

“Nowadays the world is full of indifference and cruelty. Art has an essential role in creating a positive atmosphere and awakening uplifting emotions. To fulfill this mission a musician or an artist should be free from the burden of various problems. The music performed by the orchestra should come from the heart of the musicians to reach the hearts and minds of the audience. Each of these musicians is an ambassador translating optimistic messages and high values through the medium of music. For already six years we have been supporting the orchestra as the carrier of this mission,” said VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian.

In spring, the National Philharmonic Orchestra had a concert tour in the town of Tampere, Finland, in Copenhagen and Olborg, Denmark, and in Oslo, the capital of Norway. The concert tours in Washington, Los Angeles and Mexico dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide were met warmly by the foreign audience and music critics. The Orchestra also had an opportunity to perform at the famous “Beiteddine” Arts Festival.

By the end of the year, on November 29, December 2 and 3 the National Philharmonic will give concerts in Warsaw, capital of Poland, and in the city of Ludwigshafen, Germany. The concert program features “Spanish Capriccio” by Rimsky-Korsakov, Concerto for violin by Aram Khachaturyan, Concerto for Piano N1 by Chopin and Symphonies N1 and N6 by Tchaikovsky. The soloists of the orchestra are violinist Anush Nikoghosyan and pianist Sophia Puccini (Germany). The concert program will be presented also in Yerevan on November 26. Winner of international contests pianist Karen Hakobyan (USA) will perform the Concerto for piano N1 by Chopin.

The concert tours dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide were organized owing to the support from the RA Government, RA Ministry of Culture and the State Committee coordinating the commemoration events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

Supporting initiatives aimed at promotion of Armenian culture, for already six years VivaCell-MTS undertakes general partnership of the orchestra. The leading telecommunications operator in Armenia has donated AMD 1 645 000 000 to the programs implemented by the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia. The Company also helps to inform the music loving public about the upcoming concerts of the orchestra.
