For the second year in a row, Orange Foundation supports “Lunettes pour l'Armenie” program implemented by “Union Médicale Arménienne de France de Paris” (UMAF).
In the frames of the initiative, over 1600 children from Noyemberyan and 18 rural communities in Tavush will pass free eye screenings this year and children who turn out to have problems will get individualized eyeglasses.
“Orange Foundation pays great attention to people with visual impairments. This program is especially important in that it grants the chance to detect vision-related issues at a younger age and prevent possible and further complications and even blindness. Last year more than 240 children received individualized eyeglasses based on their specific needs. 80 of the children who underwent eye screenings last year came to have problems which might lead to loss of vision in the future without timely intervention. We are happy to come up with this same initiative in Tavush realizing the entire responsibility of this mission,” said Lilit Martirosyan, General Secretary of Orange Foundation.
