The Boards of Juries of International Feature, International Documentary, Armenian Panorama and “Apricot Stone” short film competitions as well as the FIPRESCI and Ecumenical accordingly have announced this year’s competition results at the official closing ceremony of the festival on July 18 held at the Cinema Moscow.
The Golden Apricot (1st Prize) was awarded to the film Embrace of the serpent: dir.: Ciro Guerra, (Columbia).
The juries in the main competition programs of the Festival this year were headed by:
•International Feature Competition - Robert Guédiguian (France)
•International Documentary Competition –Marek Hovorka (Czech Republic)
•Apricot Stone International Short Film Competition – Hovik Habechyan (Lebanon)
•Armenian Panorama National Competition – Aleksander Grozev (Bulgaria)
The Festival this year had received more than 1600 film submissions from 105 countries, which once again proves the growing interest towards the festival and shows the expanding geography of submitting countries (previous year: 1500 submissions from 95 countries).
