The festive opening concert of the 11th National Gallery International Music Festival took place in the Mural Paintings Hall of the National Gallery of Armenia.
The opening concert of the festival featured pianist Svetlana Navassardian, soloists of the National Opera of Armenia Artsvik Demurchyan (soprano) and Kristine Sahakyan (mezzo-soprano), as well as the National Chamber Orchestra of Armenia (artistic director and principal conductor Vahan Martirosyan) under conductor Harutyun Arzumanyan. The concert program presented Giovanni Batista Pergolesi’s “Stabat Mater” and Johan Sebastian Bach’s Piano concerto d-moll BWV 1052.
The National Gallery International Music Festival was founded in 2005 by the “Gallery of Arts” foundation with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Armenia. Starting 2008 the festival has been included in the list of the State Assistance Programs of the RA Ministry of Culture.
The general partner of the festival is the leading telecommunications operator in Armenia VivaCell-MTS which has undertaken the mission of its support since 2006.
“It is a pleasure to note how the festival, in the course of its ten-year journey with us, has evolved to become one of the most successful, remarkable and significant events in our country’s cultural life. It proves once again that we can make the reality more beautiful and decent if we combine faith and devotion in work. VivaCell-MTS wishes all the participants excellent performances, an enthusiastic audience and pleasant impressions from the festival,” VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian said.
This year the National Gallery festival will be held from June 18 till July 4.
