On May 22-the International Day for Biological Diversity, the Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets and VivaCell-MTS invited media representatives to a press conference in Urtsadzor community, Ararat region.
The press conference was attended by the representatives of World Land Trust-the main partner of FPWC in the South Caucasus for the Caucasus Wildlife Refuge project.
During the conference the parties discussed the results and cooperation frames within the joint Caucasus Wildlife Refuge project. At the end of the visit the WLT founder and CEO John Burton awarded VivaCell-MTS, represented by its General Manager Ralph Yirikian, with a certificate of recognition for the company’s vast contribution to nature conservation in Armenia.
“The environmental projects carried out by the FPWC in partnership with VivaCell-MTS have the aim of bringing people to sober mind through increasing their awareness and providing continuous education in environmental protection. FPWC, VivaCell-MTS and local communities are allies in our intolerance toward peoples’ indifference which is the source of improper attitude toward the Nature and indescribably complicated consequences. The planet Earth will be brought to destruction if the purely consumeristic attitude prevails in people. Pollution, and the increasing proliferation of various diseases it causes, is the biggest challenge of the humanity. It’s high time to start understanding and preventing environmental problems today because it can be too late tomorrow. We have to give people proper knowledge to give them an opportunity to realize that the protection of national resources is as vital as protecting the national border,” VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian said.
