12 subscribers already apply to shift to Orange network

From now on, mobile number portabiliy service (MNP) is available in Armenia.

Answering Mediamax’s question at today’s press conference, Orange Armenia CEO Francis Gelibter said that as of 10:00 am, April 1, 1 corporate and 12 private customers applied to shift to Orange network from other operators’ networks.

“Today’s a remarkable day for Armenian mobile market. MNP system gives absolute freedom to subscribers”, said Francis Gelibter.

The company’s CEO said that over 30 thousand citizens visited www.1qayl.am which was created for customers to get extra information on MNP, and over 7 thousand people called to 055000222 hotline.

Orange Armenia Branding and Communications Director Aram Mkrtchyan said that on the occasion of MNP launch, the company prepared a surprise: citizens will be able to fly on the big balloon at Liberty Square for 7 days in a row. Later on, residents of Gyumri and Vanadzor will have the same chance.

“With this initiative, we tried to give the sense of freedom to our citizens”, said Aram Mkrtchyan.
