ArmenTel enhances transmission capacity of backbones

"ArmenTel" (Beeline trademark) announced expansion of external channels today. From February 5, 2013, ArmenTel network is connected to the new trunk line of first-level international operator, TeliaSonera.

The new area will increase the overall transmission capacity of the "ArmenTel's" international channels by 10%.

"Connection of new trunk capacities results from permanent increase in the subscriber base of ArmenTel internet users, expansion of our tariff line and of course, development of the e-society on the whole. It's a natural process of development of the telecommunication sector in the country which will enhance the capacity and level of independence of our infrastructure and become a basis for new offers in the communication and internet sphere", noted ArmenTel spokeswoman Anush Begloyan.

In late 2010, ArmenTel became the first telecommunication operator in Armenia to have connected to the European Internet Backbone through '' Caucasus Cable System'' cable system. In September 2011, ArmenTel organized connection of its networks to one of the top international telecommunication operators, Level 3 International provider. All the company's backbones pass through the territories of Georgia and Iran.
