Yerevan/Mediamax/. With the support of \"ArmenTel\", the Union of World Armenian Painters (Beeline trademark) placed memorials to Armenian-Polish friendship in two Polish cities.
A khachkar devoted to the century-old friendship of the Armenian and Polish peoples is placed in the center of Wroclaw, one of the largest cities of Poland. Another memorial is set up in the city of Olshtein, the home town of John Paul II. It symbolizes the friendship between Armenia and Poland and in memory of the pontiff. The khachkars made of natural red sinter measuring 4.5 and 3.5meters in height are created by Armenian masters Taron Martirosyan and Bagrat Balabekyan.
The Chairman of the Polish parliament, Minister of Culture, senior officials and representatives of the clergy attended the opening of the memorials. Co-Chairmen of the Union of the World Armenian Painters and \"ArmenTel\" CEO Igor Klimko took part in the opening ceremony.
\"Khachkars are the most well-known image, the most recognizable symbol of the Armenian people, its history and religion. Over centuries, and up to now, a khachkar has been not only a monument of original Armenian art but also the expression of the nation\'s spirit. Made in the style of Nakhijevan khachkars, the memorials will symbolize friendship between the Armenian and Polish peoples\", noted Co-Chairman of the Union of World Armenian Painters Lazar Mirzoyan.
\"Over millennia, khachkars have traditionally been placed in honor of significant events - historical or cultural. These art monuments embody the spirit and memory of the Armenian people, its great history and art. As Armenia\'s national operator, \"ArmenTel\" has always taken care of preserving the cultural heritage of the Armenian people. Cooperation with the Union of World Armenian Painters is our company\'s good tradition and I am pleased to see that our contribution allowed opening not only two monuments of rich Armenian history but also two evidences of friendship between Armenia and Poland\", noted ArmenTel CEO Igor Klimko.
