Orange Armenia finances Green Economy conference

Yerevan/Mediamax/. Today the Republican Union of Employers of Armenia launched its first Green Economy Conference with Orange Armenia CJSC as the general partner of the event.

During the conference a number of state administrative institutions, analytical centers and interested civil and non-governmental organizations will present the comparatives of the principles and standards set by green economy policy adopted by different organizations operating in Armenia, related topical issues as well as new approaches, company’s press-service informs.

During the conference held for the first time in Armenia the strategic principles of the World Organization of Employers and the International Labour Organization, advanced models applicable in the European countries, the practice and examples of localization in Armenia will be presented. Besides, Orange Armenia’s representative will take the floor with a report on the Best Practice by Orange Armenia’s example.

“We understand the importance of a “green” economy for Armenia and we encourage eco-friendly work attitude in our everyday life through setting standards of consumption of electricity, water and fuel, educating our employees, paper recycling. Orange is the general partner of this event not only because of that, but also because we believe that our efforts will be useless, unless we encourage eco-responsible attitude in the country in general, share our experience and join our efforts with those who share the same convictions. We hope that in this respect the conference will be useful,” said Francis Gelibter, CEO of Orange Armenia.

During the conference the results of the “Towards a Green Economy” contest will be finalized. This contest is organized and held by the Republican Union of Employers of Armenia in partnership with RA Ministry of Nature Protection, UN office in Yerevan and the World Labour Organization.

The event is also sponsored by UN office in Yerevan. Main partners are RA Ministry of Nature Protection, RA Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and the Confederation of Trade Unions of Armenia.
