Armenia leaves behind its neighbors in Global Innovation Index

Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenia took the 69th position in the Global Innovation Index which is worked out by INSEAD European business school and World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

Mediamax reports quoting ITAR-TASS that situation in 141 countries is analyzed in the report published in Geneva today.

The leaders of the rating are Switzerland, Sweden and Singapore for the second year in a row. Finland, Great Britain, Netherlands, Denmark, Hong Kong, Ireland and U.S. are also among the top 10.

The index calculation is based on two components: on the one hand, it considers the country’s expenses on innovations and on the other hand - practical results of the innovative activities. Overall, about 80 criteria are considered.

Georgia is the 71st, Azerbaijan is the 89th and Russia ranks the 51st.
