VimpelCom Opera Mini special browser to be launched this summer

Yerevan/Mediamax/. “VimpelCom Ltd” and Opera Software ASA announced the strategic partnership to launch a mobile web-browser optimized for common phones today.

VimpelCom Opera Mini special optimized browser will be launched this summer in all 18 countries of presence of “VimpelCom” group brands and will allow over 200mln clients of the company to get access to the mobile browser which is ideally suitable for all cheap models of mobile phones.

“The majority of our customers live in the developing countries where demand for mobile internet access is rapidly growing leaving behind rates of penetration of smartphones and 3G network extension. On the majority of our markets, “VimpelCom” will be the first operator to have offered this innovative mobile service which will allow our clients to use mobile internet with its breathtaking advantages”, noted Mikhail Gerchuk, VimpelCom’s Group Chief Commercial Officer. --0--
