Yerevan/Mediamax/. Vice President for Communications and Charity of France Telecom-Orange Christine Albanel arrived in Armenia on the occasion of the first anniversary of establishment of Orange Fund in Armenia.
During her meeting with journalists today, she stated that according to the monitoring Orange has become an important player in economic and social life of Armenia over a short period of time.
“Orange has funds only in half of 35 countries of its presence. Establishment of the Fund in 1.5 years after the commercial start of Orange in Armenia has passed rather quickly which shows our loyalty”, she noted.
According to Christine Albanel, Orange Fund does charity stemming from the problems of the country.
“Orange mission is common in all the countries: Orange wants to be a brand close to society”. The Funds activity mainly covers health, communication problems, education and availability of the digital world”, she said.
In his turn, Orange Armenia CEO Bruno Duthoit said that the new programs aimed at developing rural border regions of Armenia are currently being discussed in the Board of the Orange Fund.
In 2007-2009, Christine Albanel held the post of the Minister of Culture and Communication of France. She also has a PHD in Modern Literature and is an author of a number of plays and novels.
