Hot Line to provide internet safety for children created

Yerevan/Mediamax/. World Vision Armenia, the National Center of Educational Technologies of the Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia, Microsoft RA and “Children’s Support Center” Fund of the Fund of Armenian Relief signed a memorandum of understanding today aimed at increasing internet safety awareness among children.

The memorandum was signed during an event called “Open your virtual world…Safe”, Mediamax reports. The memorandum aims to prevent threats coming from internet and mobile phones.

Microsoft Armenia CEO Grigor Barseghyan noted that together with huge opportunities internet also carries some risks and dangers especially for children.

“Our cooperation envisages preventive measures which are an effective means to fight dangers,” said Grigor Barseghyan.

Head of the National Center of Educational Technologies of the Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia, Artak Poghosyan, said that almost all the schools of Armenia will be connected to internet in the nearest future, and safe internet becomes a primary task in this sense.

“Our center has initiated a forum “Educational environment” through which all the Armenian schools will be informed about this program,” said Artak Poghosyan.
